Ace Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, better known as Tuface Idibia has suggested the late Head of State, Sani Abacha might have looted funds to keep it from greedy Nigerian politicians, whom he said are ‘shameless’.

In April 2020, the Nigerian government received over $311 million alleged stolen funds by Abacha from the United States, and in August 2020, the Republic of Ireland also agreed to repatriate N2,514,651,800 (€5.5 million) stolen by the late General to the country.

Before then, in December 2017, Switzerland also returned $322 million stashed by Abacha to Nigeria, after reaching an agreement with the regime of Olusegun Obasanjo in 2004.

Tuface in a recent Instagram post suggested that Abacha might have looted the funds to keep them from the prying eyes of Nigerian politicians.

The 46-year-old, who wondered how we found the money if it was truly stolen, also asked what has become of the repatriated stolen funds.

He wrote, “If to say Abacha actually thief this money we for no fit recover am, abi na only me they think this thing.

“My guy, that your eye go sharp! I think he (Abacha) tried to keep it away from this thieving hands (my personal opinion) if not, please, tell me what has become of the recovered funds? Alooter continua abi.”

The veteran musician later called on Nigerians and Africans as a whole, whom he labelled as `shameless citizens” to wake up and save the continent from its greedy leaders.

“Oh, shameless Nigerian and African leaders!! I definitely know that you guys will still ignore and pretend you are not aware of things.

” We, the shameless citizens of Africa, should also wake up; nobody is coming to rescue us,” Tuface added.
