German tactician and Chelsea gaffer, Thomas Tuchel has equalled Jupp Heynckes’s UCL record and surpassed Zinedine Zidane and Pep Guardiola, after winning 32 matches in 50 UEFA Champions League games.
Chelsea beat Ligue 1 champions, Lille 2-1 in the Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie on Wednesday night, earning Tuchel the latest feat in the process.
Goals from Christian Pulisic and Cesar Azpilicueta in the 48th and 71st minutes respectively, ensured The Blues defeated Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.

According to OptaJoe, the victory against Lille means Tuchel has now won 32 of his 50 Champions League matches as a manager, beating the likes of Zidane, Guardiola, and equalling the record of former Bayern manager, Jupp Heynckes in the process.
Thomas Tuchel and Jupp Heynckes have 32 wins each and they are followed by Zinedine Zidane who has 31 wins, he is closely followed by Pep Guardiola, who won 30, while Vicente Del Bosque and Diego Simeone have 29 and 28 wins respectively.
The 48-year-old German whose side are currently third in the Premier League has won UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, since joining Chelsea in January 2021.
