Bisade Ologunde, popular as Lagbaja, embarked on a month-long tour of the U.S. that will see him and his eight-piece Motherlan’ band perform at 15 different cities. The tour, which has since visited a couple of cities, ends on May 17 in Washington DC.

The tour took Lagbaja to New Orleans Jazz Festival at the Congo Square stage on Friday, April 24, where dancers and festival-goers gave a rave review to the Afrobeat musician.

Before Atlanta, there will be Detroit and Memphis, while Charleston, SC, Abingdon, VA and New York will come before Washington DC.

Tosinger, earlier this year, released a single titled ‘Aeroplane’ off her soon-to-be-released Organically Singing album.

According to the singer, inspiration for the song is three-fold, “from a childhood Yoruba playful ‘folk’ song – when kids playing outside see an aeroplane fly by, they run after it singing the song which I adapted into the chorus; the lyrics of the first verse is a cry of the fatherless male child and the lyrics of the second verse – I was thinking about the Chibok girls that have not been brought back”.
