There is almost no limit to how wild radio host, Toke Makinwa, can go on social media.

She had suggested during the heat of the COVID-19 lockdown that women could use vibrators to get sexual satisfaction instead of relying on men.

Now, she wants couples who feel bored with each other to simply switch partners like animals would do.

“Imagine a world where we could all just switch partners after a number of years the way animals do (after a day or two), with no wahala, no stress, everybody good. Do you think it’ll be better? Less hassle, less drama just a good time,” she asked.

She then suggested: “I think marriage should have an expiry date and subject to renewal clause after a certain number of years, like the way we renew agreements.

“People should be allowed to look back, grade themselves and hit the renewal button if they can still stand each other

“Each time I see people who’ve been married for 10 years and more, I can’t lie I respect them BIG, for holding it together and not losing it, it is a lot of work and I wish many people were more honest about that journey,” she said.

She, however, got a dose of counselling from her followers on Twitter who felt the problem was with her and not marriage.

@IUnetebukane said: “Toke, marriage is all about tolerance and understanding, once ego comes in divorce is near, I’m too rich, educated should be set aside. Why most celebrities don’t marry is their pride, and disrespect to their husband.”

@CLINTONCHINAKA added: “17 years married, 20 years together, it is hard work, commitment, sacrifice, Love, tolerance and above all, the special Grace of Almighty God.”

ThankGod Ukachukwu tweeting @kcnaija argued: “People who go into marriage with the mindset of superiority contest will always have problems. People who are narcissistic who fail to realise that marriage is about a family as a unit not “I” and self aggrandisement will always get into problems.”

@PeterChiedu1 remarked: “A lot of women fake their lives into getting married to a man they desperately want.  After a month in marriage, their real attitude will show and the man will hate them. If you want a marriage they’ll last long, be your real self to him, let him love u, let him want to be with you,” he said.

But he got a response from @nekkyk_luv: “Please change your way of seeing women. It’s a two-way thing. I was deceived. Now it’s three years of quarreling and family wading in. I don’t want to feel bad today Abeg,” she said.

Makinwa had a failed marriage in 2017, and this may have influenced her into thinking that marriage is a difficult task.

Her three-year old marriage to Maje Ayida was dissolved by a Lagos High Court in 2017 when she filed for divorce on grounds that her husband was committing adultery.

She said her husband cheated with another lady, Anita Solomon, an affair which produced a child. The court granted her prayers and dissolved the union.
