Tiwa Savage praises Amusan after world record feat 

A viral clip making the rounds on social media captured the moment Tiwa Savage got on a video call with Amusan to congratulate her

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the new world record holder, Tobi Amusan, who won the Women’s 100m hurdle at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States and singer, Tiwa Savage, does not want to be left out. 

Amusan ran a stunning 12:12 seconds in the semi-final to obliterate  America’s Keni Harrison’s record to win gold and finished ahead of Jamaica’s Britany Anderson and Olympic champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, who got silver and bronze respectively. 

A viral clip making the rounds after the event on social media captured the moment the ace music star got on a video call with Amusan to congratulate her.

Tiwa Savage in the video said she was just about to dedicate a congratulatory message to Amusan on social media when she noticed that she (Amusan) was trying to reach her.  

The singer then heaped accolades on the hurdler, promising to offer her support, while the athlete beamed with a smile. 

Tiwa said, “Thank you, God bless you. I’m so happy for you. Any support, anything. I’m with you a 100 per cent,”  

The ‘Koroba’ crooner also said she hopes to meet the athlete in person soon.
