Tiwa: Nigerians show solidarity over leaked sextape

Tiwa Savage

Nigerians are showing solidarity with Tiwa Savage whose sextape got leaked on social media, revealing only her face while nothing about her lover is revealed.

The sextape appears to have been recorded with the intent of being leaked, many Nigerians have alleged, accusing her lover as the mastermind of the act.

The solidarity for Tiwa has been coming in the form of an appeal for social media users not to share the sex video.

For those who have already shared the sex video, especially bloggers, Tiwa has also been advised to invoke the Cybercrme act and make them pay for their indiscretion.

A lawyer, tweeting with the handle @savndaniel, said: “And for the mushroom blogs sharing the videos, I will advise @TiwaSavage to get the services of a lawyer in the light of section 24 of the Cybercrime Act, section 170 of the Criminal Code Act and, section 37 of the 1999 Constitution.”

He added: “Let us not make it look like sex is evil, or that @TiwaSavage does not have the right to explore and enjoy herself in any manner that she feels like – in her bedroom.”

Others said no sex video can tarnish Tiwa’s image. @jsquareofficial said: “No one can tarnish Tiwa Savage’s image here. She is a queen and no matter what, you should not forget that. Her privacy has been stolen from her and if anything the person should be punished. Stay strong Queen Tiwa.”

For a Nigerian medical doctor based in the UK, Harvey Olufunmilayo tweeting with the Twitter handle, @DrOlufunmalayo wondered how the male partner in the sex video could be missing.

He said: “Let’s not be fools: That sextape leaking was NO mistake. And no, I’m NOT saying Tiwa (or the woman) leaked it herself. Conveniently, the man’s face is not showing. But the woman’s face shows. That man who recorded it knew exactly what he was doing and exactly why he leaked it.

He added: “I really hope Tiwa doesn’t honestly believe this leak was a “mistake”. Because it wasn’t. Anyone who knows how Snapchat works will find it extremely hard to believe this “mistake” narrative. You don’t “mistakenly” upload things on Snapchat- except you recorded it there first.”

Some bloggers have been widely sharing the sex tape
