It is almost certain that even before the first ballot is cast in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election scheduled to hold between Monday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 7, former Lagos State governor and frontline presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has garnered 60 votes.

This is because the 60 delegates from Lagos State who will join their colleagues from other states to elect the ruling party’s presidential candidate are known to be supporters of Tinubu.

With three delegates representing each local government, Lagos which has 20 local governments will have a total of 60 delegates at the National Convention.

Included in the list are a member the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Mutiu Are; Alimoso APC leader, Abdullah Enilolobo; former Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Housing, Hon. Jimoh Ajao; Chairman of Odioolowo/Ojuwoye local council development area, Hon. Rasak Ajala; and former factional leader of APC in the state, Fouad Oki.

While Are will lead the Lagos Island squad, Enilolobo and Ajao are in the Alimoso team, even as Ajala chaperons the Mushin team. Fouad Oki will lead the Surulere team.

Other prominent names on the list include former chairman of Somolu local government area, Prince Sesan Olanrewaju; member of the Governing Council of Lagos State University, Mr Tolani Sule, and immediate past chairman of APC in Lagos, Alhaji Babatunde Balogun.

Most of these delegates are known to be Tinubu’s foot soldiers, who have been in his political camp all their political career. He mentored most of them even as he remains their benefactor.
