Tinubu wins 12 Ekiti LGs announced so far

Before the election, Oyebanji said the Ekiti State was indebted to Tinubu and would pay back with massive votes during the election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has won in 12 out of 16 local government areas (LGAs) in Ekiti State.

As of 7 am on Sunday, the former governor of Lagos had been announced at the State Collation Centre in Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State as having polled 134,503 votes from 12 LGAs of the state.

His closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 61,414 votes while Peter Obi of the Labour Party got 5,454 votes in the 12 LGAs.

The APC currently governs Ekiti through Governor Biodun Oyebanji. Oyebanji’s predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, is also of the APC and a key supporter of Tinubu.

One popular PDP politician in Ekiti, ex-governor Ayo Fayose, is also believed to have worked for the APC candidate, having joined camps with PDP governors opposed to Atiku.

Before the election, Oyebanji said the Ekiti State was indebted to Tinubu and would pay back with massive votes during the election.
