The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has returned to Nigeria after his latest trip to the United Kingdom (UK).

Tinubu arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday.

Tinubu travelled shortly after declaring his interest to vie for the 2023 presidential election.

The former Lagos State Governor, in January declared interest in contesting the 2023 presidential election after a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House.

Tinubu who was away to the UK on medical tourism where he spent several weeks before returning to declare his interest in the presidency, which he said has been a lifelong ambition, said he travelled this time for consultations.

His media aide, Tunde Rahman, confirmed his arrival.

Rahman, while sharing a photo of his arrival on his page, said: “Asiwaju Tinubu on his return this evening from a trip abroad…”

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had earlier said that he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his ambition to contest for the position of president in 2023.

He said it was a lifelong ambition and that he has the confidence, the vision and the capacity to build on the vision of President Buhari.

The APC national leader disclosed this to State House correspondents after meeting behind closed-doors with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
