Tinubu picks Balarabe Abbas to replace El-Rufai, seeks confirmation for three new ministerial nominees

Abbas, who is among the nominees, is a ministerial replacement for the former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

President Bola Tinubu has selected three persons to join his cabinet.

The nominees for ministerial positions include Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Balarabe Abbas and Olawale Olawande.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio made this known during resumption of plenary by lawmakers on Tuesday.

He read a letter sent by Tinubu to the Senate requesting confirmation of the nominees.

Abbas, who is among the nominees, is a ministerial replacement for the former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, whose confirmation was stepped down by the Senate due to alleged security report.

The other nominees, Ibrahaim and Olawande, were earlier nominated as minister of youths and minister of state for youths respectively by the president.
