By Jeffrey Agbo

President Bola Tinubu is set to meet with members of the Lagos State House of Assembly at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting is believed to be connected to the crisis in the assembly which saw Mudashiru Obasa impeached and later reinstated following intervention by the party’s leaders.

Obasa arrived at the villa at about 2:50 pm while his colleagues arrived earlier in two buses.

TheNiche earlier reported that Obasa, before his reinstatement, said he held no grudges against anyone following the leadership crisis in the assembly.

“I don’t have anything against anybody,” he said in February. “My colleagues have always been my brothers, they have always been loyal, dedicated, with strong commitment to serve the people of Lagos and we will continue to do that together. I have no intention of victimisation.”

Obasa maintained that he does not consider himself impeached, arguing that due process was not followed.

“I’ve told you repeatedly I’ve never been removed. There’s nothing like impeachment. Impeachment is constitutional but to achieve that you must follow the due process,” he stated.

“I’m not against been removed, if I do that then I’m not democratic but all we’re saying is let us go through the normal process to achieve that.”

When asked, “What’s next?”, Obasa simply replied, “Obasa.”
