President Bola Tinubu has described the Prelate Emeritus of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Sunday Ola Makinde, as a “man of unwavering faith“ while eulogising the clergyman on his 80th birthday.
The president made the remark in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 10, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale.
Tinubu while praising the leader of the Methodist Church Nigeria, noted that his “ministry has been characterised by a profound commitment to advancing the values of love, selflessness, and social justice, which are so deeply embedded in the teachings of Jesus Christ”.

He went on to say Makinde, a one time President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), contributed greatly to the spiritual growth of Christians under his care and achieved remarkable milestones in promoting unity within the body of believers.
Nigeria’s number one citizen further commended him for his devotion to the Church, as well as his commitment to the progress and unity of the nation.
He also acknowledged the wise counsel that the celebrant has provided to those in authority and his fervent prayers for the country.
Tinubu also prayed that his ministry would continue to be a blessing to those in need of pastoral care and support and to the entire nation.
