All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential hopeful, Bola Tinubu, got wet while at an official visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland on Saturday, February 12.

His aides say the video was photoshopped, but available evidence suggests otherwise.

Tinubu is the most formidable contender for the APC presidential ticket.

He has been in and out of hospital for some time now, but his aides claim he is in good health condition.

The palace of the Awujale where the incident occurred, is fully airconditioned, according to journalists at the event, ruling out the possibility that the soak was the result of sweat.

There have been speculations in the past that Tinubu uses pampers because of a urinary dysfunction, a problem common with older people.

Tinubu says he is 69 years, but those who claim to know him, say he should be over 80 years.

The Peoples Gazette which was among the first newspaper to publish the story said: “On Saturday at the palace of Awujale of Ijebuland in Ijebu Ode, Bola Tinubu’s dress was soaked behind when he stood up. His security aide also frantically covered his nose. A spokesman for the presidential front runner did not return a request seeking an explanation.”

A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan on social media, Reno Omokri, says about the leak: “Urinary incontinence can happen to anyone in old age. We pray for ourselves and others that it should not befall us in Christ’s Name. We sympathise with Tinubu. But, what if he were in the White House when that happened? Imagine the impact on our national standing!”

He added: “Tinubu’s camp may be surprised to learn that the embarrassing leaks about him are actually being promoted by Vice President Osinbajo’s campaigners. We can name names if they want. Let them sort themselves out, although we appreciate them exposing their dirty linen!”
