Tinubu confers MON on silver winning Super Eagles

Tinubu apart from this gesture, gave each of the Super Eagles’ players a plot of land and a flat in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, February 13, honoured every member of the Super Eagles that participated at the just concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The meeting followed their recent match against the host nation, Côte d’Ivoire, in the 2023 AFCON final, where they fell short in their bid to lift the country’s fourth trophy.

While hosting them at the Council Chambers of the State House, President Tinubu conferred Nigeria’s National honor of Member of the Order of Nigeria ( MON ) on each of the players.

In addition to the award, he also donated a completed flat and land in a yet-to-be-disclosed location in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to each of the players.

Apart from the president, the event was also attended by Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, Vice President, Kashim Shettima and FCT Minister,  Nyesom Wike.
