Tinubu claims Adeboye named him Abraham, takes swipe at Atiku

Tinubu during a parley in Kano, took a swipe at the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for saying the North needs only a northerner president

The All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu has claimed Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) leader, Pastor Enoch Adeboye christened him Abraham.

Tinubu made the disclosure while in Kano State for a meeting with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Tijaniyya sect, and other Islamic groups.

In a trending video which has since gone viral on social media, Tinubu recounted how Adeboye called him Abraham when his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, was ordained a pastor by the church.  

He said, “The day my wife was ordained a pastor, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me Abraham. I said what is the meaning, he said ‘watch out…the father of nations’,”

During the parley, the APC chieftain took a swipe at one of his opponents in the presidential race, Atiku Abubakar, who was recently chastised by Nigerians after he was quoted to have said, the North needs only a northerner as president.  

“Between all of us running, we are three now left. One just failed the most important part of the examination. Are you a unifier or a divider? He said I’m from the North”, Tinubu added. 

As seen in the video, the event was attended by prominent APC members in Kano State, including the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and some other dignitaries.
