President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerian workers that he will soon send a bill on new minimum wage to the National Assembly.
He made this known on Wednesday morning during his Democracy Day broadcast.
On Monday, the tripartite National Minimum Wage committee submitted its report to the President.
In the report, the Federal Government proposed N62,000 minimum wage, while organised labour made a counter proposal of N250,000.
Prior to this, governors had rejected the N60,000 earlier proposed by the FG.

However, while addressing the new minimum wage saga during the broadcast, the president assured workers that the issue will soon be resolved.
He also noted that his government did not crackdown on organised labour like a dictatorial government would have done when they embarked on a nationwide strike recently..
Speaking during the speech, Tinubu said: “We have negotiated in good fate and open arms with organised labor on a national minimum wage, we will soon send our executive bill to the National Assembly to enshrine what has been agreed upon in the next five years or less.”
