Timi Dakolo claps back at fan who slammed him for singing for Atiku

Timi Dakolo performed at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s official declaration for the 2023 presidential race yesterday

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo has defended himself after he was chastised by a fan for singing at former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar’s declaration for the 2023 presidential race.

The musician sang his hit song ‘Great Nation’, at the declaration, an act which infuriated some netizens and stirred reactions on social media.

Some accused him of sabotaging the effort to get rid of the old politicians who got us into this mess in the first place.

Others attributed his performance at the ceremony as an endorsement of the PDP chieftain despite his criticism about the state of the nation a few days ago.

A Twitter user identified as @Olaolu_ thaniel accused the 41-year-old singer of enduring Atiku and suggested he did it out of hunger. 

“Hunger is a real Ba*tard! They have started singing in political rallies ohhh @timidakolo is live at Abuja international conference center singing and endorsing PDP’s Atiku.” the netizen wrote. 

Timi Dakolo, who wasn’t remorseful, responded saying he will sing to guarantee his survival, urging him to do the same if he is sad about it.   

“I will sing and collect bread my Guy, if it pains you well well, go sing your own,” he replied.
