Brentford went into Saturday’s game at Stamford Bridge knowing the last time they beat fellow Londoners, Chelsea was over 83 years ago, precisely on February 25th, 1939.
But they rallied back to demolish the European and World Club champion after going 1-0 down and their coach, Thomas Frank has said that his team defeated Chelsea because ‘everything clicked’ for his team against the host.

Goals from Vitaly Janelt (2), Christian Eriksen, and Yoane Wissa cancelled out a brilliant strike from Chelseas’ Antonio Rudiger, with Brentford earning a deserved 4-1 win away from home.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Thomas Frank said Brentford started very well against The Blues despite playing away.
He also praised the players and the entire club for achieving such a monumental result over a well-accomplished side like Chelsea.
“In football, you work so hard, so many hours, and a lot of times you think you maybe don’t get what you deserve because you can’t control the randomness of football. Today everything clicked,” Frank said.
“Today being part of a club and team of fantastic players and staff and winning here at Stamford Bridge against the European and World champions and in a well-deserved almost-complete performance is a little bit unreal.
“We started very well. We were brave. We wanted to press high and it was a big moment for the club,” he added
