Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has expressed confidence in the current Gunners’ squad after admitting they have been below par in the latter stage of Arsen Wenger’s time at the club.
Henry made the assertion while speaking on CBS ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League opening away encounter against FC Zurich on Thursday night, which they eventually won 2-1.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since Henry’s playing days, while they last played Champions League football in the 2016/2017 season.
However, they currently sit top of the table after six games with Mikel Arteta at the helm and now have their sights set on a top-four finish at the minimum.

Despite losing their 100% league record over the weekend after a defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, their first five wins ensured they remained at the summit of the PL league.
Henry, while analysing the progress made under Mikel Arteta, pointed to areas in which the team used to struggle and how well they have recruited to strengthen those positions.
He also noted that the signing of serial winners such as Gabriel Jesus and others has impacted the team’s winning mentality.
Henry said, “The team is different. When you get the likes of Gabriel Jesus, you get Saliba, that can allow you to play higher, and Odegaard the way he is right now, and still Bukayo Saka.
“What it is with Gabriel Jesus is he knows how to win; he won. He’s bringing that into the team, and you can see it.
“Having said that, the way we beat Fulham and the way we beat Villa, we were a bit emotional at times. But I believe. I didn’t believe for a very long time that we could do something.”
