When Adeoluwa Okusaga, popularly known as Saga, stepped into the Big Brother house, many of the fans of the reality show had high hopes of him going all the way and possibly winning the grand prize.
The reason behind this enthusiasm is that Saga came on the show well dressed, as he wore a coloured smart blazer, a fitted shirt and pant, making eyes roll and leaving the opposite sex in admiration.
On getting into the house , the audience also discovered he is a talented artist, a fitness instructor who has an online gym outfit, and to crown it all , an engineer, who had worked in the down stream sector of Nigeria’s oil industry.
On the emotional front , the 28-year-old also told the whole world and his fellow housemates that he lost his mum before coming on the show, and that her exit adversely affected him.
Few weeks into the reality show however, the young man has now incurred the wrath of the same people who desperately wanted him to succeed.
His ordeal started as fast as the first week, when he suckled the nipple of a married woman, Tega, during a truth or dare game,
This act was particularly frowned at because , the woman in question is a married woman.
As if this was not enough, Saga pitched his tent with Nini, who had made it known to him that she was involved in a relationship outside and has since his entanglement with her, has remained a shadow of himself.
Despite being muscularly built, fit and intelligent, he is yet to win a single Head of House task, because he is too obsessed with Nini and no longer focused on the game.
A lot of the viewers also believed that he said he prefers Nini, his love interest, to win the game rather than him. Despite a rebuttal by his handlers, his rating has continued to go down.
Many of his fan lost their patience with him when he stabbed his best friend in the house at the back, just to please Nini. The incident occurred when he told Nini that Pere was trying to force a friendship with him and that he should seek voluntary exit and go home because he is lonely and suicidal.
Saga, also made Liquorose’s reign as Head of House (HOH) hellish, as he constantly antagonized her, despite being her deputy. He was also less supportive in the management of the house, as he was always getting cozy with Nini in the HOH room upstairs, rather than pay attention to happenings around the house.
The latest and the most annoying of the lot, is his decision to tell Nini that Biggie asked him to pick up a fight and avoid her for a whole day, thereby revealing his secret task to her.
While we might eventually see Saga’s talent when he gets out of the house and wakes up to the reality that Nini, his love interest and the reason he is so distracted is taken. As for now, nobody will be able to see these inherent talents, as he has clearly abandoned them for the pursuit of what he considers a bigger reward than the N90 million at stake.
