The place of God’s mercy and grace

Antoni Okoh

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103: 8-10-12). “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrew 4:16.)

Mercy is an act of God’s sovereignty when judgment is withdrawn from the guilty and forgiveness is bestowed. God’s grace and mercy can only be received when we come boldly before His throne and cry out for it. Jesus paid the supreme price for the eradication of all sins ever committed by man. Satan will want to place continuous guilt and self-condemnation on you, but you must move from guilt to forgiveness and total deliverance. There are vows many have made and cannot remember. Some were even made by our mothers and fathers. Today, the parents are no more, and the aggrieved spirits trail the destinies of such children. Today, you can discover how to be forgiven and cleansed from these consequences and how to provoke God’s mercy and grace.

Noah’s action: In Genesis 8:20-22, God cursed the earth as a result of man’s continuous evil imaginations and cruelty. This led to mass destruction by water, and only Noah and his household who were in the Ark were saved. When Noah came out of the Ark with his household, he raised an Altar of Sacrifice. When God smelt it, He was happy and He reversed the curse He placed on the earth. “…I will not again curse the ground anymore for man’s sake, for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth” (Genesis 8:21).

David’s action: In 2 Sam. 24:16-25, David made a wrong move to number the armies of Israel, thereby shifting his focus from God’s back-up to his military strength. God’s anger was kindled against David and Israel. In one day, the aggrieved angels of God killed 7,000 men. A prophet called Gad instructed David to raise an altar, which David did sacrificially and the destruction stopped. “…and David built there an altar unto the Lord and offered burnt offering and peace offering. So the Lord was intreated for the land and the plague stayed from Israel.” You can raise an altar of mercy today and stop the actions of every aggrieved spirits destroying the works of your hands” (Eccl. 5:1-6).

The prostitute’s action: In Luke 7:37, this woman was well-known for prostitution. When she approached Jesus, the Pharisees said, “…this man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that touched him, for she is a sinner” (Luke 7:39). But she wept, washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, anointing them with an expensive ointment. Judas Iscariot, the treasurer of Jesus, exclaimed, ‘Why was not the ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?’” (John 12:5).

In conclusion, Jesus said to her, “Thy sins are forgiven.” Raise a mercy seed today and bring it before the altar of God and ask for forgiveness for unpaid vows in your life.
