Terrorists in Zamfara State have abducted the wife and eight-month-old child of a former councillor, Haruna Babangida Damba.
The terrorists attacked the politician’s home in the Damba area of Gusau, Zamfara State, shot him and abducted his wife and eight-month-old baby.
Damba survived the shooting which happened in the early hours of Wednesday, August 11.
Damba told Channels Television that the gunmen who were about four, invaded his home at about 12: 00 am by shooting sporadically for over one hour, before abducting his wife and son.
Damba said he put a distress call to the police immediately to come to his rescue but they did not show up until 3:00 am after the criminals had long gone with his wife and child.
He said he recovered 17 used ammunition and one live ammunition which the gunmen fired at the main door of the house to force it open to access the sitting room.
