Ter Stegen during an interview with Mundo Deportivo said Messi is now the best footballer in history because he has won the World Cup

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has joined the debate on who is the greatest footballer of all time between Argentina captain, Lionel Messi and Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to the German, there has never been a doubt that Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer in history.
Asked during an interview with Mundo Deportivo whether the debate about the best footballer in history has been laid to rest now that Messi has won the World Cup.

He said, “I think there is no one like Leo, he deserves all this and that he has the satisfaction he always needed. But for me, there was never a debate.”
Prior to this development, TheNiche had reported that former Spanish coach Vincente Del Bosque, Ivorian legend, Yaya Toure and former Man City captain, Vincent Kompany, all picked Messi ahead of Ronaldo.
Messi did only win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Argentina but contributed immensely to his team’s success in the competition, earning the best player of the tournament in the process.
He became the Most Valuable Player (MVof the tournament after netting seven goals, including two in the final against France.
