Tems tries to make up for her public humiliation of Wizkid at the O2 Arena in London by describing him as her brother

Wizkid received a cold reaction from Singer, Tems, after they both performed at the capacity filled O2 Arena in London on Wednesday, December 1.

They both collaborated on a song, Essence, and performed in front of excited fans who cheered them.

The ticket for the event was sold out, and Wizkid and Tems performances were greeted with cheers from a grateful audience. An excited Wizkid threw decorum to the wind and wanted to lift her. She resisted the move, leaving Wizkid exposed in the cold. He smartly walked away.

The internet became agog with the video of the incident among the most viewed on Youtube.

Several comments for and against Wizkid dominated social media, but the majority of comments rebuked him for disrespecting the space of Tems. Some even reminded him that Tems is not Tiwa who could allow such inappropriate touches.

But singer, Tems, has declared that Wizkid is her brother and she loves him despite the cold rejection she gave him at the O2 Arena.

Tems, 26, said in a video posted on Twitter on Thursday that she was grateful for all Wizkid has done.

“All I’m going to say is Wiz is my brother, and someone I look up to. I am grateful for all he’s done and his existence. I want you guys to remember that he’s human, I’m human, and I love him, and that’s not gonna change,” she said.

Tems birth name, Temilade Openiyi, earned two US top 40 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, with her collaboration with Drake on the song “Fountains” from his album Certified Lover Boy, and the Wizkid single “Essence”; the latter of which reached the top ten following a remix with Justin Bieber, and earned her a Grammy Award nomination.

In the same year, Tems was ranked number one on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart and number five on the Billboard Emerging Artist chart.

 In September 2021, Tems was signed to RCA Records, and released her second EP If Orange Was a Place, which reached the top ten on the Billboard World Albums chart.
