Eighty-eight days after their abduction, pupils of the Saliu Tanko Islamiya school in Tegina, Niger State were freed late Thursday.
The pupils who were kidnapped on May 30, were said to have been released in Kebbi State according to the school principal, Idris Umar.
Umar said the school children were on their way to Niger State where the state government is expected to receieve them and make them undergo medical examinations before being handed over to their parents.
Last week, the abductors freed some of the pupils after the payment of N50 million out of the N300 million demanded by the insurgents.
