SuperSport’s Let’s Play storms Fugar, Edo State

The capital city of Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Fugar, was recently woken by the activation of the Corporate Social Initiative (CSI) of SuperSport, Let’s Play.

The annual Okpekpe 10km Road Race in Edo State has always been preceded by Let’s Play activation for the children in the surrounding communities. This was the 3rd edition in the area and hosted by Hon. Emma Momoh, Executive Chairman of Etsako Central LGA.

Over 2,000 children, aged between six and 13 years, from various primary schools in the area attended the event. The kids were given the very basic football skills training by a team of 30 coaches from the Edo State Sports Council led by the Technical Director of the NFF, Amodu Shuaibu. Also present to support the coaches was Victor Ikpeba, Let’s Play Ambassador.

Hon. Emma Momoh said that “the kids have just been given a once in a lifetime experience. Let’s Play is what they have been hearing about and today have experienced.” While the general manager of SuperSport, Felix Awogu expressed his belief that “Let’s Play has begun to carve a niche as it enters its 10th year of existence.

Launched in Nigeria in 2011, Let’s Play has impacted the lives of over 20,000 children across the country through sports.”

Let’s Play Initiative is SuperSport’s way of inspiring the kids to start playing actively again.
