The international friendly match involving Cartage Eagles of Tunisia and Nigeria’s Super Eagles ended in a 1-1 draw.

The match played at Jaque Lemmans Arena in Austria last night.

After losing the first friendly encounter to Desert Warrior of Algeria on Friday, the Nigerians were looking to redeem their image but the Tunisians stood their ground.

The Tunisians started strongly and put Eagles on the back but the Nigeria defence led by Rangers of Scotland defender Leon Balogun checkmated their attacking threat.

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring for Nigeria after a nice turn in the box.

The Foxes attacker later turned villain when he missed penalty kick after Tunisia goalkeeper Ben Mustapha brought down skipper Ahmed Musa.

The first stanza ended in 1-1 draw with Nigerians looking as the better side.

The second half resumed with both side looking to secure a win.

The Nigeria duo of striker Cyril Dessers and Bright Ejuke made their debut for Nigeria as they were introduced for Musa and Samuel Chukwueze.

Carthage Eagles nearly stole the day in the final minute but goalkeeper Maduka Okoye showed brilliance to deny them and ended the game 1-1. The Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be back in action in November when they face Leone Star of Sierra Leone in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
