Super Eagles may have earned a place in the playoffs, but more effort should be made to pick a world cup ticket

Head coach of the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde, Pedro Leitao Bristo, said they did their best against Nigeria but the best was not enough to achieve the set objectives.
Second-placed and ten-pointer Cape Verde needed to win in Lagos against Super Eagles to progress to the playoffs round but could only picked a point which is not enough for the team to progress.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen gave the Super Eagles the lead but Dos Santos levelled up for Cape Verde 5 minutes later.
During a post-match conference, Bristo admitted that Nigerians were better, it was a tough game he however praised his players for giving their best.
“It was a tough game we did everything possible to win but unfortunately it didn’t happen,” he said after the game.
“My players gave their best and I’m happy with their performance. It is the game, that’s football for you,” he said.
Cape Verde finished second in the group with 11 points behind Nigeria who finished top with 13 points
