Sunday Oliseh, former Super Eagles coach, says Nigeria are one of the favorites to win the 2021 Nations Cup in Cameroon

Former Super Eagles midfielder and coach, Sunday Oliseh, has listed Nigeria as one of the favorites to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
He made the statement while speaking at the inauguration of the 10-Year Nigerian Football Development Master plan Committee, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on Thursday

Oliseh is a member of the committee which includes; Ibrahim Galadima (Chairman), Yemi Idowu (Vice-chairman), Dr. Bode Durotoye (Secretary), Musa Amadu (Assistant Secretary) Emmanuel Babayaro, and Segun Odegbami.
Others are Ikeddy Isiguzo, Alhaja Ayo Omidiran, Augustine Ojiabor, Tobechukwu Okigbo, Ade Ojeikere, Mohammed Sanusi, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta, Muhammad Daha Umar Faruk, and John Opubor
The 47-year-old Oliseh, said those who write off Gernot Rohr’s side are doing so at their peril.
He opined the squad can win the competition because they are talented and should, therefore, not be underestimated by Nigerians.
“Nigeria should not be written off as regards winning the AFCON because we have the talent to win the trophy.
“Nigerians should stop underrating our team. We are one of the favorites to win the trophy.” Oliseh said
The Olympics gold medalist also said, if the boys are given adequate preparation, they can win the 2021 AFCON trophy with luck on their side.
He added, “The players must rise to the occasion, and with little luck, they are capable of winning and making Nigeria proud. Don’t write the Eagles off.”
The 2021 African cup of nations is scheduled to hold in Cameroon between January 9 to February 6, 2022.
Nigeria, who have won the cup three times are in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau.
