…Says he is yet to receive any letter from the agency

The Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2019 election and former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi has denied reacting to the invitation to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as being circulated on different media platforms. If anything, the former governor is yet to receive any letter from the anti-corruption agency but ready to honour any legitimate invitation by any government agency.
Some online mediums and social media platforms have been publishing a statement purportedly made by Obi on the EFCC invitation.
The said reaction quoted Obi as requesting the EFCC to make their investigations public, among other remarks.
But in a release by his media office and signed Valentine Obienyem, Obi insisted that he was yet to receive the letter from the EFCC, which he read on social media like others. “From what is circulating, the letter appears to have been sent to an office he is no longer part of and is yet to reach him”, the release stated.
It added however that “Obi being a law abiding Nigerian will honour all legitimate invitations from government agencies at all times.”
