These days, it is much easier to second-guess artistes, as they now give a blow-by-blow account of what they are doing at any particular time on social media. Year 2015 has barely started and one of the most popular Nigerian artistes of 2014, Davido, has started a rant on his Twitter handle. No one yet knows who is making him angry this time, but check the status of all the artistes and you can guess exactly what their aspirations for 2015 are.
Tiwa Savage
For Tiwa Savage, the picture of her baby bump is what is prominent on her Instagram page. If the caption is anything to go by “2015…just the 3 of us #AllGloryToGod”, then she will more than anything else dedicate this year to antenatal care and eventual childbirth and nurturing of the baby.
Seyi Shay
Seyi Shay, responsible for the popular song ‘Murder’ at the beginning of the year, shared a picture of herself beside Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney with the caption: @waynerooney and shay…ambassadors for Chivita/Hollandia 2015 is the year #Amen.
If all things go as planned, her Instagram page also indicated that she would be performing in the United Kingdom at the Quilox London on May 1.
Asa
Asa, who gave an exciting performance late last year at President Goodluck Jonathan’s meeting with the creative industry, is currently on tour across Europe. She will be stopping in countries like Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland and a host of others. Her Instagram page indicates that the tour is to start February 18 and end by April 10. The musician made this known by sharing a picture of the touring venues and dates on her page with the caption: “It’s getting close to touring time.”
Fuse ODG
Fuse ODG’s UK Tour, which he announced on his Instagram page as #TINATINA 2015, will be going across Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow. Fuse ODG, who dropped his latest single titled ‘Thinking About You’, featuring Kill Beat on Monday, January 5.
Sarkodie
Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, is set to release an album titled, Mary. Named after his grandmother, he explained that it took him two years to complete work on the album. The honour is because his grandmother always wanted him to record live music, but couldn’t live to see him do it. Indeed, all instruments on this album were recorded live.
Don Jazzy
The leader and boss of the Supreme Mavin Dynasty (SDM) said the team would be dropping the official video of ‘Lookulooku’, which features Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Dija and De Prince anytime soon.
Terry G
Terry G, who has a unique style all his own, is also embarking on a project he refers to as ‘Best of Terry G’ this year.
Born Amanyi Oche Gabriel, the hip hop/R&B act and producer, found little break-out fame when he produced 2shots’ ‘In case you never know’ featuring Timaya.
Skales
Skales, made very popular with his hit single, ‘Shakebody’ is currently working on his yet-to-be-titled album, which is set to hit the airwaves this year. He is also dropping a new single titled ‘Jekanmo’ very soon. There is no doubt that the year will be a very busy one for Skales.
Omo Akin
The ‘Ijo Oloti’ singer posted a picture on his Instagram page on Thursday, January 8, with a caption saying that he does not want bankrupt people around him this year.
“Oh Lord please keep broke people away from me this year and forever … I say no to broke friends. I want friends that I can also benefit from IJN Amen
“This is not a joke,” he said. “This is actually a very serious prayer … Amen Amen Amen”.
Iyanya
Iyanya Mbuk, the leader of the Made Men Music Group, who at the beginning of the year shared his New Year resolution to keep in shape, among other things, is currently in Dubai.
The 2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa winner had posted on Instagram: “2015: I resolve to reduce stress, keep in shape, improve my mental skills/concentration, meet great people, make more hits/more money. Above all, I want to know more and appreciate my fans a lot more. My God is with us. My God is with you.”
He was still in Dubai as at press time for the official launch of Cream Ladies DXB billed for January 7.
Ice Prince
Ice Prince Zamani said he will be dropping a new single at the end of this month called ‘Trash Can’. The BET award winner said the album has been in preparation since last year, but that did not see the light of day.
