Squash Federation: Nigeria’s Erena emerges Africa’s regional VP

Alhaji Adamu Erena, the President of Nigeria Squash Federation (NSF) has emerged the regional vice president, Africa Squash Federation (North).

He has also appealed to corporate organizations and wealthy Nigerians to support federal and state governments to create jobs for teeming jobless youths through sports development to keep them out of the streets.

Erena, who was the chairman, Niger State Squash Association (NSSA) and the current President, Nigeria Squash Federation, emerged Africa’s regional vice president to represent some African countries, including Nigeria at the world Squash game.

He spoke at a two-day North-Central Zonal Secondary School Squash Competition for Under-19 Boys and Girls at the Minna Sports Club, Minna, Niger State.

After the keenly contested election in South Africa, Erena who took over from Mr. Femi Ajagbe, said that he and five others from other African nations emerged leaders to promote the game of Squash in the continent and the world in general.

Erena said that Nigeria Squash Federation under his leadership has recorded a number of achievements through sponsorship of championships in the past few years.

As part of his contributions to sports development, Erena said that he was collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Sports (north-central) zonal office in Jos, Plateau State and the Niger State Ministry of Sports to organize the championship aimed at discovering hidden talents in the zone.
