Spurs beat Everton after shocking FA Cup exit

Spurs are now on the same points with West Ham in 5th, and 2 points behind United who they play next, while they are 3 points from Arsenal in 4th

Tottenham Hotspur beat relegation threatened Everton at home to move 6th and improve their chance of booking a Champions League place.  

Everton got out of the blocks the quickest and dominated possession but it was the home side who got the opening goal. 

Toffees defender Michael Keane gave Spurs the lead when he steered Ryan Sessegnon’s cross into his own net to make it 1-0 to Tottenham.

Son Heung-min increased the home side’s advantage 3 minutes later after he was put through by Dejan Kulusevski and he converted the effort.  

Harry Kane added another goal in the 37th minute to go 3-0 up before the break. After resumption, Sergio Reguilon converted Dejan Kulusevski’s cross for the fourth before Kane volleyed in a fifth. 

The goals scored by Kane are his 175th and 176th Premier League goals, meaning he is now sixth on the all time top scorer’s list and has gone above Thierry Henry. He is also one goal behind Evertons’ gaffer, Frank Lampard 

Spurs are now on the same points as West Ham in 5th, they are also 2 points behind United who they play next, while they are 3 points from Arsenal in 4th.

Everton are just one point and one place above the relegation zone with a game in hand on Burnley below them, they play Wolves next at home.
