Sports Minister Enoh leads athletes to Douala for CAA championships

The Sports Minister Senator John Owan Enoh has promised to lead Nigeria’s AthIetes to Douala Cameroon for the Senior Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) Championship which begins on June, 21-25.

The Minister made this known in Benin while addressing AthIetes and officials of the AthIetics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Monday night.

He assured AthIetes that as the Sports Minister of the federal republic, he owes as a duty to lead from the front and ensure their progress.

Sen. Enoh praised the Athletes and officials of AFN board for doing so well at the Africa Games and CAA Zone ll Championships in Ghana where they placed first over all and pledged that their journey to Douala would be stress less.

“I am going to lead you to Cameroon, you have done well, AFN board has also done well, I want to be part of your progress in Cameroon, I will address you again where you can ask questions about your concerns.”

As the minister makes his way out of the arena he informed the press that AthIetes have received 99% of their allowances, adding the one per cent left may have not submitted their account details.

When a question was asked among AthIetes, only one AthIete has not been paid as she confirmed that she’s yet to submit her account details to AFN.

The finals of the National Trials in Benin continues today with competitions in 200m, 400m and the relays etc.

Monday at the arena was rewardiing for Long jumpers as they recorded improved performance.
