Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, has announced that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was committed and determined to ensure the implementation of the demands of the youths in country.
For about three weeks there has been restiveness as well as demonstrations which hit a tragic proportion on Tuesday night.
In a press statement issued by Mrs Blessing Lere-Adams, the Director of Press in the office of the minister, Sunday Dare remarked that the demands were getting attention.
“It is noteworthy to inform us that more than before strategic steps and plans are already in action from a willing government that wants to both build and empower the Nigerian youth with a vision of growing them in addition to boosting the economy to a globally competitive stage.”
Dare also appealed to the youths to calm down, come over to government’s dialogue and peace table to talk over their grievances in a father-son –family relationship to mitigate through an expeditious dialogue.
The minister said that the deaths of some youths amongst whom, would have been those who would build this nation was regretted.
