The Executive Chairman of Gombe State Sports Commission, Hon. Larry Olare Daniels has commended the brain behind recent AthIetics development in Gombe State.

Hon. Daniels who was present at the Pantami Stadium that hosted the first AthIetics Grand Prix was thrilled after witnessing the attendance and good performance of Schools and Athletes that took part in the competition.

“This is amazing, this AthIetics activity had never happened in the state before. I commend Hon. Ahmed Gara Gombe and his team for this giant effort”.

“The Kangiwa Doma”, further assured that the State Sports Commission will do all in its power to assist in reviving AthIetics in Gombe State.

He also insisted that the Commission will play its role as always to extend and contribute its own quota to the development of all sports, especially athletics in the state.

Hon. Daniels also urged all athletes, schools, villages and Communities to cooperate with GAA in releasing their children to participate in sports where their talents would be discovered for their benefit.

Meanwhile, the GAA boss has announced the hosting of All Primary Schools AthIetics Competitions in April this year. This would be followed by AFN coaching course for selected coaches in the North-East Zone with Gombe State as centre.

“We are aspiring to have enough facilities and also get involved in training our technical personnel to handle athletes that would be discovered during and after the various Competitions that would hold in the state,” said Gombe.
