Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore said he is set to lead the Abuja leg of the nationwide protest on October 1 which is inspired by the hardship in Nigeria.

Amidst the push against the protest by the Federal Government and warning by the Nigeria Police Force, Sowore said there is no going back on the October 1 protest.

Sowore gave the update in a viral post on his X on Monday. He is one of the key organizers of the protest, titled: NO GOING BACK! #FearlessInOctober.

“This protest is set to be peaceful and to be held at the Eagles Square in Abuja,” Sowore asserts.

Also in an interview session shared on his handle, Sowore noted that “Between the last protest on August 1, just two months ago and now, petrol prices has risen by almost 300 percent. The naira has further devalued, and prices have increased in the market. Floods are devastating our cities. Bandits have taken over and killed off entire communities.”

In Lagos State, the protest organizers are set to commence their march by 7:30am at Ikeja under Bridge.
