South South group chides Amaechi over attack on Jonathan

The league of South South nationalities has cautioned the Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi over what it termed ‘the governor’s reckless’ attacks against President Goodluck Jonathan.

Gov. Rotimi Amaechi

According to a statement by its national coordinator, Victor Mathew, the governor has used every opportunity to malign and discredit the President.

The statement reads in part: “The League of South South Nationalities views with concern the consistent verbal attack of Governor Amaechi against the President.

“The governor has used every conceivable opportunity to invidiously malign and discredit the President.

“Amaechi has the right to aspire to be a Vice Presidential candidate, but such pursuit should be pursued within the boundaries of reason and decorum. The fight for political power should not make us condescend to the abyss of loss of courtesy,” it said.

The group also congratulates the minister of petroleum, Diezaini Allison- Madueke on her emergence as the first female OPEC president.
