Soludo renames Ministry of Commerce and Industry to Ministry to Industry

“This decision is to enable the Ministry of Industry focus on the industrialisation agenda of Mr. Governor, and for greater performance,” the statement said.

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo on Monday approved the renaming of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to Ministry of Industry.

The governor made the change at the Executive Council meeting of the state government.

Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Obinna Ngonadi, will henceforth be addressed as the Commissioner for Industry, according to a statement on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu.

“The Trade and Commerce aspect of the Ministry will, until further notice, be domiciled under the Governor’s Office. By implication, all activities relating to trade and commerce should be channeled to the Governor’s Office.

“This decision is to enable the Ministry of Industry focus on the industrialisation agenda of Mr. Governor, and for greater performance,” the statement said.

The above reorganisation is with immediate effect, the statement added.
