Singer, Spyro insists he is not a ‘New Cat’ 

Spyro in a recent Instagram post argued that he has been in the Nigerian music scene longer than most artistes

Fast-rising Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has taken to social media to correct the misconceptions that he is a ‘New Cat’ in the Nigerian music scene.

The ‘Who’s Your Guy’ crooner disclosed this via his Instagram page on Tuesday, July 4, where he bragged about how he has been in the Nigerian music industry way before many popular artistes.

According to Spyro, his story is one of grace. as he went ahead to share videos of works and collaborations he had done with other top musicians in the past before his big break.

Taking to his official Instagram account, he wrote: “It is funny how a lot of pple think I’m a new cat *lol. I have been here way before most of your faves.”

The 25-year-old in the now-viral post also explained that he wanted to take over from the late Dagrin before he later decided not to do the rap genre. 

He further told his fans and other netizens that he collaborated with the late Sound Sultan in 2014.

“So when you see me put GOD on my head, just know say e get why …my eyes have seen it all but he MADE A WAY just when I was about to give it all UP.

“Recorded my first collaboration in 2014 with the late Sound Sultan and been grinding since then till God picked my call this year,” he stated.

The rave of the moment went on to say he also had a collaboration with ace singer, Tiwa Savage, in 2010 when he was still a rapper with the stage name “Freeze.”
