Singer, Solidstar claims his fans thought he was a Ghanaian

Solidstar also said his hit song, ‘One In A Million’ which featured 2baba inspired P-Square’s hit song ‘Possibility’

Nigerian Afrobeats  singer, Joshua Iniyezo, popularly known as Solidstar, has said many of his fans thought he was a Ghanaian when he hit stardom.

He made this known recently while featuring on the recent episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, where he said fans felt he hailed from Ghana because of his unique musical style.

The embattled singer, went on to say his hit song ‘One In A Million’ inspired a new sound in the Nigerian music industry.

He further claimed that the remix of the song with 2Baba inspired P-Square’s hit song ‘Possibility’ which also featured the same artiste

Speaking during the interview, Solidstar said: “It was ‘One In A Million’ that paved the way for me in the music industry. I won the Best New Artiste at the Nigerian Music Video Awards with the song. Many even thought I was Ghanaian, they didn’t know I’m Nigerian because my style then was different.

“It was my song [‘One In A Million’] that changed the sound of the Nigerian music industry. It was also the inspiration behind P-Square’s ‘Possibility’ featuring 2Baba.

“The song changed the Nigerian music industry. It came with its unique style. I slowed the tempo down and everyone started copying that pattern.”
