Nigerian singer Qudus Fakoya Oluwadamilare, popularly known as Qdot, has caused a buzz on social media after claiming late rapper, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, aka Oladips, is still alive.

The rap artiste’s management had on Wednesday, November 14, announced his sudden death via a post on his Instagram page.

It was also revealed that Oladips had been battling an undisclosed ailment for about two years before his untimely demise.

“We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS has passed away yesterday Nov’14 Tuesday evening, at exactly 10:14pm. We are still in shock as we speak!” the statement read.

Hours before his death was announced by his managers, Oladips caused a stir online, after a viral video showing the moment he fell before he was allegedly rushed to the hospital made the rounds on social media.

However, his friend and colleague, Qdot, on Thursday, November 16, took to his Instagram page to make a shocking revelation, claiming the singer is still alive and well.

Sharing a picture of Oladips on his social media page, Qdot wrote: “@oladipsoflife, my gee is alive.”

Similarly, another close associate of the singer known as Sircoolest took to his social media account to debunk the news of his death.

He wrote: “Oladips is alive, he just finished eating Rice And Turkey here, he will post his Apology video when his New Album finally enters number 1 in Nigeria”

The claims later elicited mixed reactions, with many questioning the authenticity of the information by the two singers, while others believe Oladips “faked” his death to promote his album, ‘Superhero Adugbo,’ which was released today.
