Singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly called Simi, has acknowledged there is a “good chemistry” between her and comic Falz (full name Folarin Falana) but that it has never led to a romantic gig, despite rumour of such for nearly a decade.

Simi disclosed on Angela Yee’s podcast Way Up that a lot of people had erroneously thought she and Falz were making out because of their chemistry which was limited only to music, and announced her latest work in collaboration with the guy will be released later this month.

Her words: “I have one more single coming out at the end of this month. I can’t say the title now but I can tell you who I’m featuring on it. It’s Falz!

“This is interesting because Falz and I have a history. Before I got married, we did an EP and everything. People thought we were dating. We had a couple of songs together and people loved them.

“They were like, ‘You have a good chemistry.’ So we decided to do a joint EP and we made an EP called ‘Chemistry.’ People really loved it.

“So we want to do something again for the culture. It’s kind of a funny song. I’m really excited and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Simi and Falz sparked romance rumours after releasing a joint EP titled Chemistry in 2016.

The rumours subsided after Simi got married to her secret lover, singer Adekunle Gold, on 9 January 2019 in Lagos. The couple welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020.
