Manchester City star, Bernardo Silva has ignored North London club, Arsenal,  despite recent history and instead named Liverpool as his team’s toughest opponent in the Premier League.

In the last two seasons, the Gunners have pushed the Citizens all the way, losing the title to the Premier League champions by just 2 points in 2022/2023 season.

Despite this, the Portuguese midfielder said he respects Liverpool players a lot, adding that they are the toughest team to play against in the league.

When asked who Man City’s toughest opponents in the Premier League are, Silva replied (as quoted by TBR Football): “I always tend to go to Liverpool because I respect them a lot because of how good they are and how tough it was for us over the years to beat them. So Liverpool players are always the toughest I would say.”

He went further to note that in addition to his admiration for Liverpool, he also
enjoys beating Manchester United.

Liverpool were our biggest rivals. I have been at Man City for seven years and a few months, and Liverpool were always the toughest, but I like beating Man United as well,” he  added.
