Show Dem Camp releases EP ‘Palm Wine Music

Show Dem Camp

Following the completion and success of their Clone Wars mixtape series, Nigerian fast rising hip hop  artists, Wale Davies (Tec) and Olumide Ayeni (Ghost) better known as “Show Dem Camp”  has again proved their mettle as one of the best rap duo in the Nigerian music industry with their newly released seven-track EP titled “Palm Wine Music”.

The group, known for their hit singles Happy Weekend Sir, Feel Alright, Getting You and Farabale (the hit track which undoubtedly introduced a then relatively unknown MayD and the lyrics “Chop My Money” to the audience) worked tirelessly for two years to come up with this seven-track album. According to the rap duo, “ it took close to two years to  create something that will set the Nigerian music scene agog once again as well as keep our patient fans happy”

The rap duo further added that “Palm Wine music” has since taken on a life of its own – with the name of the tropical drink being used to describe the sweet fusion of African percussions with live instrumentals, elements of hip hop, and an atmosphere surrounding those feel-good songs.  It represents “escaping the stress of Lagos life,” the duo adds. “It’s oneness with nature, chilling with friends, a beautiful woman… just a happy place.”

Show Dem Camp’s new compilation serves as both the reintroduction to one of Nigeria’s premiere music acts, and as a worthy immersion into the industry’s current inspired sound. Produced entirely by Spax, the EP features several leading acts in the alternative and palm wine music spaces – including Funbi, Poe, Boj, Ajebutter, Odunsi the Engine, and Tomi Thomas.  Palm Wine Music (Vol. 1), the duo’s first commercial release in over two years, is already out on all platforms and also currently rocking the Nigerian music airwaves.

Show Dem Camp took the Nigerian entertainment industry by storm a couple of years back when the group debuted with their collaborative album “The Dreamer Project”. Ever since the group has continued to release more and more hit singles even as their fans continued to yearn for more. And certainly this current Palm Wine Music (Vol. 1) will not be an exception.
