Republic of Ireland and Washington Spirit forward, Marissa Sheva has warned the Super Falcons of Nigeria that her team will be going all out for a win when both sides meet in Group B final game on Monday at the Lang Park, Brisbane.
Vera Pauw’s side were eliminated from the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after losing 2-1 to Olympic champions, Canada and 1-0 to co-hosts, Australia in their opening two games.
However, the Irish girls who are making their maiden appearance at the tournament will play for pride when they take on table-topping Super Falcons in their last group game.
Speaking on the encounter recently with BBC, Sheva, who was born and raised in the United States by an American father and an Irish-American mother, said they will go for a win against the Super Falcons.

The NWSL attacker also said even though they are out of the World Cup, they want to finish the competition on a high.
“You will never see us give up.
“I am so proud of this team for that reason. We will go into that next game in Brisbane and we will fight like hell.” Sheva said.
Nigeria surprised all pundits and bookmakers, when they drew their opening game with highly rated Canada and followed it up with a win against Australia in front of their fans and a packed stadium.
The West African side are now top of their group with four points after two games, having scored three goals and conceded two.
