Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday joked that the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima, is the chairman of the “Osinbajo Ice-cream company”.
Osinbajo made the comment at the launch of a book titled ‘Deputizing and Governance in Nigeria’, authored by the governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Osinbajo, who was a special guest of honour at the occasion, joked: “…Distinguished Kashim Shettima, who is also the majority shareholder and chairman of the Yemi Osinbajo Ice-cream Company.”

Back in June in the heat of campaigns for Bola Tinubu to emerge the APC presidential flag bearer, Shettima tagged Osinbajo as a nice man who ought to be selling ice-cream.
Shettima said, “Osinbajo is a nice man. But nice men don’t make good leaders. Nice men should be selling popcorn, ice-cream.”
Osinbajo, Tinubu and several others contested the ticket but Tinubu emerged the presidential candidate of the ruling party ahead of the 2023 elections.
Other dignitaries at the event included Governor Babagana Zulum (Borno), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe) and Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara).
