Senator Shehu Sani has lambasted the Nigerian government for its inability to free the remaining students of Federal College of Forestry Kaduna held captive by their abductors.

The senator, who represented Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, in his twitter handle, @ShehuSani, lamented the plight of the unfortunate students, whose abductors had threatened to kill or marry if government fails to meet their demand.

He said that the government has lost the moral right to call the citizens to the path of patriotism when it could not stand for them when they were involuntarily on the path of danger.

He stated: “The threats by bandits to ‘kill or marry’ the abducted students of the Federal Col. of Forestry Kaduna is unfortunate.

“The government loses its moral right to call the citizens to the path of patriotism when it cannot stand for them when they are involuntarily on the path of danger.”

But Hafeyx Bello in his twitter handle, @its_ Hafeyx, faulted Sani.

He wondered what efforts the senator had made to free the abducted students.

He tweeted: “You as a senator to Kaduna, wat is your contribution to the said abduction. Is it dat you are only here on Twitter twitting or actually doing something in real life to the said unfortunate incident.”

Oluwa Segun, @lukmansegun, came in defence for the former senator.

He stated: “Kai!!!! I can’t believe what am reading.. Why are some of you like this? He’s [Shehu Sani] no more in government for crying out loud and he’s neither the governor nor is he in his cabinet.”
