Shehu Sani while chastising former govs of the state, noted that there are wealthy individuals in Kano who can effortlessly fix the problem

Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has frowned at reports that 4.7 million school pupils in Kano State learn while sitting on the bare floor, describing it as “unfortunate”.
He made this known on Friday on his X handle, where he also noted that the news is an indictment of former governors of the state.
The former senator’s comments came after incumbent Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf accused his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje of neglecting the education sector in the state.
According to him, when his administration took over in May 2023, about 4.7 million pupils were sitting on bare floor in primary schools across the state.

Reacting to the statement, Shehu Sani, ascribed the development to the “failure of responsibility by successive governments”.
He further noted that there are wealthy individuals in the state who can effortlessly fix the problem.
Speaking via his verified social media page, Shehu Sani tweeted: “The revelations made by the Kano State Governor that 4.7 million pupils are sitting on the bare floor is sad and unfortunate.
“Its a failure of responsibility by the successive governments in the state.
“In Kano, there are more than a thousand wealthy people who can solve that problem within 24 hours. This is an indictment on them.”
Two months ago, Gov Yusuf vehemently reacted to accusations of failure levelled against his administration by Ganduje, describing the latter’s eight-year tenure as governor as wasted years.
In a scathing response released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, he said: “Our eight months in office has remarkably outweighed Ganduje’s eight wasted years of political caricature and maladministration by all standards,”
