Shearer urges Harry Kane to leave Spurs for new club 

Shearer said the 29-year-old should consider playing for another club after his dedication and loyalty to the north London club

Pundit and former Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer, has advised Tottenham Hotspurs forward, Harry Kane to consider leaving the club this summer for a new club. 

The England international has been linked with a move to Manchester United and other clubs both within and outside the Premier League (PL)  this summer.

despite Spur’s precarious position on the PL league log table has scored 28 goals in 37 league appearances this season, the latest being a brilliant free-kick against Brentford on Saturday.

Speaking on Spurs season on ‘Match of the Day’ recently, Newcastle legend, Shearer said the 29-year-old striker should consider trying another club after his dedication and loyalty to the north London club.  

He said: “If it was me [Kane], personally, in his situation now – yeah, I would look at my options. 

“He has been so loyal to Tottenham and so brilliant for Tottenham. I don’t think any Tottenham fan could complain if he said: ‘Look, I have done my time and I have got to look elsewhere.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has insisted that his team will have to win the UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy if they want to be considered one of the greatest of all time.

Speaking on the issue after their 1-0 win over north London club, Chelsea on Sunday, Guardiola said his team will have to win a Champions League trophy first to be labelled a great team. 

He said: “I have the feeling we’ve done something exceptional, but to be considered one of the greatest [teams] we have to win the Champions League, otherwise it’s not complete,”
